When is Ottawa International Buskerfest?

The event runs from August 8 – August 10, 2025 (inclusive.)

Where is it?

Buskers will take over 5 blocks on Sparks Street.. and have a new performance space at World Exchange Plaza!  Scroll down the page to view a Google Map.

How much does Ottawa International Buskerfest cost to attend?

Admission is free! Woohoo! Buskers do make a living off of your donations, so do bring cash to tip the performers.

What is a busker?

Buskers are street performers. They are talented, highly-skilled entertainers who put on mesmerizing shows in public places for gratuities.

How do the performers make money?

Each performer collects their own remunerations by passing a hat after their performance, which goes directly to that performer or act.  Some travel costs are covered by sponsors, but the majority of their income comes from their audience.  Don’t pass on the hat when it comes around at the end of the show!  How much you pay the performers, is always up to you.

How long are the performances?

Around 35 to 50 minutes. Each show is different and the schedule is subject to change.

Do the performers go all day?

Shows start at 11am each day and go until around 10pm.  Things wrap up early on Sunday with the last show being the Grand Finale show at 5pm at World Exchange Plaza.

Is this event wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Shows are at street level!

Is there First Aid on site?

Yes.

Where do we get food?

Sparks Street has plenty of options for food with bars, restaurants, and fast food options. If you don’t want to miss the action, you can choose from 12 outdoor patios!
